Fast track service on deep hole boring and drilling

The installation of a second deep hole borer at Hone-All Precision has provided the ISO 9001-accredited sub-contractor with the means to offer a fast track service for urgent orders without affecting pre-scheduled work.

The Nagel deep hole borer, which can machine to a depth of 1500 mm and from 19 to 60 mm diameter, with a maximum counterboring capability of 90 mm diameter, joins a larger Boehringer machine that can drill from solid up to 125 mm diameter and counterbore to 200 mm diameter to a depth of 2850 mm. This additional deep hole boring and drilling resource, according to Hone-All Precision director Andrea Rodney, has resulted in a more competitive pricing structure for smaller components and shorter delivery times overall. 

An ongoing investment programme has seen the Dunstable-based company consolidate its reputation as a single source supplier of fully machined, high quality components. In addition to its comprehensive milling, turning, grinding and EDM drilling facilities, Hone-All Precision has upgraded its inspection facilities, a refurbished quality control department housing a wide range of equipment. This includes a Quantum CNC co-ordinate measuring machine and a Mitutoyo optical projector, with all equipment calibrated to National Standards. Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Statistical Process Control can be provided when requested.
